Curious?

I used this Altoids tin to store my grommet setter for a while but didn't want to throw it away when I didn't need it anymore. Some paper scraps were 3" wide and made a perfect text block (accordion binding) for a mini pocket journal.

October's handbound books

I found an old key at an architectural salvage store in KC for the cover of this book
The cutouts from the cover make straps for closures.
I used old blueprints for the pages of this book. Should be really fun to journal in!

Book Binding; some books I made a while back

My very first hand bound hard cover journal.

Eddie Bauer bags are so cool. I used this one to make a cover for a blank design journal.

Cutting out spaces in a leather spine allows for more exposure of the signatures inside. I had to be careful to sew in a way to prevent stress on the pages.

I am a designer for DaySpring (a subsidiary of Hallmark) and this is one of my latest journal projects. This one is machine bound, but its great to be able to merge hobby and work.
